Small idea turned to be BIG; UAA Story

It was not a big task to think about alumni association at Utter Ganga (UttarGanga Alumni Association). So, I dreamed of it. Then, fortunately it became big; here goes the story of small that turned into big.

SLC 2062 Batch

When I talked about it with respected school Head Sir (Dhan Bahadur Kuwar), he was so excited. He told me that the UAA is one of the most important things we should do in school. Few days latter I wrote a Proposal about it. The Proposal was not as good as it sounds. I just put my thoughts on paper.

In one chance, I gave it to Head Sir. Once again, he was much happier with me than before. We talked about the plan to start, its timing and how to reach all the alumni. He was very thankful with me and praised my effort openly. “You are first proposal maker”, He said adding,” “You have to present it on our annual function.” Then we made plan on when to organize formal program. He said to me that he would talk with teachers and school management board about the proposal.

Uttar Ganga, where I was nurtured for two years.

I had to leave to Kathmandu sadly. But, as I have heard, the plan is going fine. Many friends and ex-students (some of them are guardians now) are working on it. Hope it would be formed as soon as possible. UAA becomes one of the powerful and most important organizations because of students of largest school in North West Baglung.

My small idea turned to be very BIG for us, for our school and community.

(Association hope to reach maximum numbers of ex-students from Uttar Ganga. For School which has large number of Alumni all around the globe, it will be very beneficial. So, I request to all seniors and friends, please spread these message to your family, friends and relatives so that we will have huge mass on the ground.)

Nepal Chhantyal Association[नेपाल छन्त्याल संघ]

This is just message I forwarded to facebook group Nepal Chhantyal Association!

Almost 100 Members! This is a great excitement for all of us. Loads of thanks for joining the group, sharing videos, photos, links, pages, comments and for interesting discussion.

------------- I met my old native friend in this group. There is program in Australia. UK chhantyals are hosting Deusi Bhailo. Char- Meng, Maghe Sankranti festival celebration was awesome at Chhantyal Building. Someone is in US and his/her native is in Japan. There are new job opportunities in Dubai. SANGH is announcing new statement. This is photo of Khungkhani, link about ….Khani. LOOK! What an interesting! Chhantyals are dancing on their traditional dress. Click here for more about ourselves www…….org. “Hey Bro tapai ka ko chhantyal ho?” “…. ye ye solti pardo rahechha.” -----------

This way the group is going. Isn’t it a great job itself we are doing in our spare time? Isn’t it a best way to connect with fellow chhantyal. Oh YES! This is what we should continue. This gives some tremendous satisfaction saying that we have a group… a participative group with 100 members.

I remember the day when we were only 12 people in this group. Within the time span of one year, we reached this huge mass. It shows that we are using Internet as source of Information and number of chhantyals using facebook is increasing.

Ahh! Enough! Now this is time to move forward. I have some ideas on how to make group more active and interactive. Please nominate if you like it, or do comment or go ahead and share with us. You might have better idea on what to do.

1. What if similar form of unity happens in real world as well? ---like in some form of club, group etc. so that we could meet, share, play, read….plan, act, do.
2. What if we could do some real work on ground? Like publication, raising funds, supporting some projects, research etc.
3. How could we help each other?
4. New Constitution is going to be formed very soon. What are our concerns and what can we do about it? I think it is one of the most important current affair we should be focused.
5. What about a message a month. I am very keen to know about message I send. How do you feel about it? Does it bother your fb surfing? I send updates in about 2, 3 months and I think it would be better a message per month.
6. What do we think of ourselves? What is the agenda we have to focus?
7. We have many Genus people, many creative people, many doers and many hardworking people. How could we help them? How could we encourage them?
8. What do you think about our main organization?
9. What about visiting our old Khanis (Mines) in our vacation. Let’s form a group and start trekking. How long is your vacation?
10. What we could make Chhantyal Historical Museum? (One of my dreams) As a country with big tourism prospect, this project might be best way to preserve our treasures. And this might be good source of income too for SANGH.

These are 10 ideas on my mind. What, too long huh? Hmm if it caught your mind, respond. Otherwise just skip it and start having fun.

“Everyone has a story, just they need to do is tell.”

Keep telling your story on the group. Stay in touch. Enjoy yours precious time.

And HAPPY DASHAIN & TIHAR! May Laxmi bless you! May your sister’s wish come true!

With Best Regards

Nar Kumar Chhantyal
